Who we are
This website, naturecrusade.com, is operated by Nature Crusade, an initiative of NC Sustainability Foundation, Mumbai (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
When you donate
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- For a dedication (“Celebrate a Moment”): the honoree’s name, your message, and — only if you ask us to notify someone — that person’s name and email address.
- If you tell us you are donating through a school, NGO, company or other organisation: its type and name.
- The donation amount and the payment reference given to us by our payment partner.
We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are processed entirely by Razorpay on its own secure checkout; we receive only a payment confirmation and reference number.
When you create a donor account
- Your name, email address and phone number, and your password (stored only in an irreversible, encrypted form).
When you join the Crusade
- Your name, email address, phone number and city, and whether you are joining as an individual volunteer, a company, an organisation or a government body.
- Depending on that choice: how and when you would like to volunteer (and confirmation that you are 18 or older), or your organisation’s name, your role, and the kind of project, region, scale or land you have in mind.
- Anything else you choose to tell us in your message.
When you contact us
- Your name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic of your message and the message itself.
Automatically
- Essential cookies that keep you signed in and protect forms from misuse. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept for security for a limited period.
How we use your data
- To process your donation and send your receipt and tree plantation certificate.
- To send the dedication email and certificate to the person you asked us to notify.
- To share the geo-tagged location of your trees and updates on their care.
- To run your donor account, including email verification and password resets.
- To respond to your messages and partnership requests, and to contact volunteers about plantation drives and events.
- To keep records required by law and to prevent fraud and misuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not send marketing emails without your consent.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help us run this website, each bound to protect your data:
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- Brevo — delivering our emails (receipts, certificates, account emails).
- Hostinger — website and database hosting.
- Google Fonts — the fonts on this site are loaded from Google, which may receive your IP address.
We may also disclose data where required by law or a lawful request from authorities.
How long we keep it
Donation records and receipts are kept for as long as required by applicable accounting and tax laws. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (except records we must keep by law).
- Withdraw any consent you have given.
You can update your details or delete your account yourself from your profile, or email us at kapila@naturecrusade.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
All pages are served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Passwords are stored in hashed form, access to donor data is limited to authorised staff, and our systems are regularly backed up and kept up to date.

Donations and accounts are for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to donate on your behalf.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
